Are you really free?

Freedom is the ability to do what you want (free to act) when you want (freedom of time) with whomever you want to do it (freedom of association).

Prisoners are not free to do what they want, when they want and with whoever they want. They have to act on instructions of prison warders and abide by strict rules of the prison. They are only free to think what they want to thinks if they choose to and it ends there.

Employees also are not really free! Yes, I said it! As an employee, your employer owns much your time during week days and sometimes on weekends (no freedom of time). Moreover, you have got to do what your boss or employer asks or instructs you to do and execute your functions as that’s what he is paying you for (hence no freedom to do what you want).

Most self-employed are also not free, and this is because most of them have to perform every role and function in their business because they are the only person working for them. Most self employed work long hours (no freedom of time) otherwise they are hardly making enough money to live on. They work for their business and are slaves to it, and if they are not at work, they don’t make money.
They are not really free, and are working for a boss who demand more and more of their time; money. They work for money and not the other way around, and in their businesses and not on them. This is not really freedom, is it?

Being free means being free to live your purpose without ever worrying about money. It means working because you choose to, not because you have to. This sounds like being wealthy, doesn’t it?
Not really, this is how to get your freedom;
1. just determine the kind of lifestyle you want to live and
2. find out ‘how much’ it would cost you daily to live such a life and still have a little bit more.
3. Create passive income streams equal to the number in 2 above
4. Ensure your amount in 3 above increases each year by at least an inflation rate.
With all these four in place then you are free to do whatever you want, whenever you want, and with whomever is willing to do it with you! Well, just make sure you don’t break the law or hurt anyone when you do what you want, and note that the ‘with whoever you what’ portion is conditional to or contingent upon the approval of your spouse if you are married! Right?

So, are you free? Really? If not then start working on your passive income streams today as that is the first step towards real freedom, financial freedom. Political freedom means nothing if you don’t have financially freedom. Take control of your life and do what you want do on Monday mornings, not what you have to do… to earn money.
