My testimony: God gave us a son.
It started in the last day of the GMIL conference when Apostle Charles called to the front those who want to have babies. My wife rushed to the front in faith, heeding the call, knelt down surrendering to God’s will. She was asked as to what she wanted and she said she wanted triplets. Apostle answered and said, ‘ I see a son’!
Footnote: I want you to analyze this answer carefully. Instead of saying, ‘you will have your triplets’, Apostle Charles just said what he is seeing in the spiritual realm. It makes me realize that God gives us WHAT WE NEED, and not necessarily WHAT WE ASK for! What kind of God is this?! HE KNOWS OUR TOMORROW WITH PRECISION! He is a great God, we are so grateful He knows what is best for us. He always meet our needs.
I want to take few steps back to get you to understand the situation that let to this fateful and prophetic Sunday morning. My wife and I had been married for more than a year and a half at this stage and we hadn’t conceived as yet. People in our extended families had already started to talk (people can talk insensitively you know) and ask what was going on, and it was becoming uncomfortable to meet relatives, at least some. They didn’t know and nor they were aware of our struggles. They didn’t know we had consulted with multiple doctors trying to find the solution. They didn’t know we had spend money and time trying to find out what was going on with us. I am glad to say that each of those tests came back good, confirming there is nothing wrong with us, our bodies, nor our health.
We thank God that none of us had a problem, but the question still remained; why haven’t we conceived as yet, after almost 2 years? Am sure some of you are asking the same question! Devil is s liar and he cannot stop the promises of God from manifesting into reality. He can try, and he tried with us, but he cannot win, as long as we stand in prayer with an unwavering faith in the Good God we serve!
Weeks after that fateful and prophetic Sunday, there was again an anointing Sunday and my wife’s prayer and wish on the day was to be anointed for conception of her baby. Immediately after church she drove to the mall, propelled by her illogical faith, and bought some baby blankets. She will tell you that this day was the affirmation of her turning point for she declared and believed that day that the cycle she was in was going to be her last. She acted in faith on that day. She didn’t have any option, no doctors to rely on for a miracle and nobody else but God. God was THE option this time, not AN option. About a month and half later she found out SHE WAS PREGNANT!
Footnote: You see, our good God is jealous, and He wants us to know without a shadow of a doubt that our breakthrough was because of Him and Him alone. Had we conceived whilst we were CONSULTING multiple doctors, His omnipotence would perhaps have been diminished somewhat, perhaps in doubt to some of you reading this, pertaining to our breakthrough. But when we made Him the ONLY option, when we abandoned anything else but put our FULLEST reliance in Him, He came through for us. Some are saying ‘God helps those who help themselves’. Child of God, don’t be fooled, this is NOT a bible verse and don’t treat it as such. He is a great God and doesn’t need help to perform a miracle.
During the pregnancy we were again tested. We found out that the baby was growing slower than normal. This, we were told, was due to an abnormally high blood pressure my wife was diagnosed with…and at some stage the blood pressure was about 208 over 150. She got admitted to hospital in more than one occasion to help bring the blood pressure down.
Footnote: Being pregnant and having a baby was and is an answer to our prayer and we were grateful to God for that. But the devil had his plans, and he couldn’t sit back and see God being glorified and prayers being answered, testimonies being said. There are instances were babies are being lost due to high blood pressure. But not ours! The devil is a liar. We serve a great God! High blood pressure deprives an unborn baby of oxygen and nutrients and this could lead to brain damage and lack of growth. We thank God that there was no brain damage whatsoever even though the growth stalled a bit and was below average.
One of the days when my wife was admitted into hospital the doctor came and said to us… the blood pressure is not subsiding and the baby is still not growing and he’s not getting enough nutrients and that the probability of losing him is increasing unless he is being birthed promptly. Wow! Clearly the believers in us decided to wait it out few more days, even weeks, against the suggestions of the doctor, in prayer and supplication.
At this stage my wife and Apostle J were communicating regularly and praying together. We are so grateful for a caring and loving mother such as her, she is indeed God’s gift to us! In the next few days my wife was slightly better, thanks to Apostle J for standing in prayer with us, and thanks to God for answering our prayers, but my wife and I (and the doctor) decided that it is best the baby comes out.
We thank God the delivery went through without problems, but the little man had to be admitted into the ICU, mostly for monitoring. He was tiny but in good health and we thank God for that. There was multiple chords and machines attached to his little body to monitor every vital sign but he was not on any medication whatsoever. Through constant prayer and declaration he gained strength and reached milestones faster than many of his peers. Few weeks later he was strong enough to go home with us! He is home, doing well through the grace of God. We are thankful. He was not premature, he was right on time as per God’s plan.
So, child of God, whatever challenges you are going through, pray your way through them. Whatever need you have, pray your way to having it met. We serve a great God who answers prayers, he answered ours. You’re next in line for a miracle. If God can do it for us, He can also do it for you. Just pray and believe. Challenges are there to make us stronger, build our faith and make us resolute in our trust in Almighty God. The truth is, Nothing was wrong with the two of us, but we had to wait for our answer though it was not pleasant. Wait on God, in prayer, His timing is always perfect. What we wanted and prayed for was a baby for us, it is probably something else for you. Whatever it is, just know that He is Jehova Jireh. You will testify! God bless you!
