Four Principles to enjoying ‘the present’
1. Don’t sacrifice your happiness and health today in pursuit of money and wealth;
It is amazing the kind of things we do for money. I do understand that we shouldn’t be lazy and expect others to take care of us, but there should be things we are not willing to do to get the money we so desperately seek. How many times have you ever been unhappy with the treatment you get from your boss, and how many time have you tolerated it? Do you know the effects on your health of doing everyday what you ‘hate’ doing yet you do it anyway? What is the use in sacrificing your health for money and using the same money you earned to take care of your health. Futility! Vanity!
2. Don’t worry too much about the future and forget to live for today;
Wow, this point talks to dead dreams and those that took the back seat to make a way for whatever it is you think would make you happier, more fulfilled and perhaps fit into the crowd. Is whatever you are doing today worth sacrificing your dreams for? Revive your dreams and start enjoying chasing after them again, you owe it to yourself.
3. Today is the tomorrow we spoke about yesterday, so live;
Living for today more important and planning for the future. Today is called ‘the present’ because it really is. Today we have, yesterday will never come back and tomorrow is not guaranteed. It is up to us to make a choice as to whether we would wait for tomorrow to really LIVE! So,….
4. Enjoy your today as tomorrow will always be one step away from you;
Each day, I try to find something to do that makes me happy, something that I enjoy doing the most, forgetting about my plans for tomorrow and the struggles of yesterday. This comes highly recommended.
You might be dead ‘tomorrow’… The question is: would be proud of the way you lived your life, deferring things you love doing the most to ‘the tomorrow’ that never comes?
