Help me up!
Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil.
For if they fall, ONE WILL LIFT UP HIS FELLOW. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, TWO WILL WITHSTAND HIM—a threefold cord is not quickly broken – Eccl. 4:9-12. (ESV)
We are/were sinners saved by grace, (Ephesians 2:8)… we sin intentionally and ignorantly. We were not perfect but were made perfect in Christ.
We all do wrong and make mistakes, and we might end up in trouble because of wrong decisions and actions we took. Yet, Jesus didn’t die for the perfect ones, the faultless ones. He died and paid ransom for the imperfect, with sinful nature, like you and me. The kind who are prone to falling!
The righteous man falleth….Proverbs 24:16. Hence we should expect to fall at least once in a while, even when trying hard not to. I like this extract from Romans 6:
15 For I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate. 16 Now if I do what I do not want, I agree with the law, that it is good. 17 So now it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells within me 18 For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out 19 For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing. 20 Now if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells within me.
We would need help to get back up, especially from our brethren, children of One Mighty God, at least in my ideal ‘world’. More often than nought, instead of helping each other up, we judge, blame, accuse, rebuke, belittle, embarrass and gossip. I have heard one of my atheist acquaintances saying ‘Christians are taught gos-si-pel, not gospel!’ This is because we talk bad about each other to others, especially non-Christians.
Anyone can fall, pastors and pimps, young and old, Christians and atheists, male and female, mentors and mentees, the rude and the humble, rich and poor, the curious and the ignorant. I have fallen, more times than I can count. Many of us Christians do. Perhaps you are one of the few perfect ones, who has never fallen and will never fall; good for you! As for the rest of us, we expect you to help us up when we fall, instead of kicking us when we are down! If you do anything different, you are probably not good a Christian as you think you are. Think about what Jesus Christ would have done; either join those who were throwing stones or help defend the downtrodden!
Help me up my brethren I have fallen! Please don’t judge nor advocate gossipel! It could be you who falls tomorrow. Do to me what you’d like done unto you!

The article – Help Me up,
You nailed it sir, many times we have destroyed each other through our very own words and judging one another. Thank you for illumination.
Your are a blessing in the body of Christ.
