When I was little, I did not want to sleep with the light switched off. I was afraid of the dark because I thought there was something lurking in the dark waiting to harm me. I had a clear picture in my mind of how ‘this monster’ looks like and ‘knew’ exactly what ‘this monster’ would do to me.
In truth, I was just afraid of the unknown and my fear was limiting me from enjoying a good night sleep I deserve, amongst other things. I grew up and realized that the ‘monster in the dark’ was just a figment of my imagination.
Most of us spend our days doing things we don’t really enjoy doing, because we are afraid of trying something different. We would rather keep on doing things we are used to, things we are comfortable with instead of trying something different, something out of our comfort zone, including chasing our dreams. However, we cannot change out lives if we are still afraid of change, afraid of the dark, afraid of the unknown. Insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome. You are not insane, neither am I. Dreams are nothing if not acted upon, ideas are nothing if we do not implement them.
I think there are two kinds or groups of people in this world, namely, those who work on realizing their dreams and those who help them. Which group do you belong to?
Courage is the ability to act in spite of fear. Be courageous, don’t be a coward. The world rewards courage and does not reward cowards who let fear determine their future and destiny.
