Your network is your net-worth
Your network is the type and character of people you associate with on the daily basis. Your net-worth is the value you have created for yourself, the difference between assets and liabilities. We say an individual is ‘a liability’ if he or she subtracts value from you and add nothing of value to you. On the other hand, ‘assets’ add more value that they get or demand!
So, your network is about your connections; your connection to your customers and clients, to your suppliers and your distributors, to your business partners and employee, to influential and wealthy people. People naturally do more business with people they like most!
If you spend time with nine thugs, you are likely to be the tenth. Similarly, if you spend time with 9 millionaires, you are likely to be the tenth. Their good or bad habits are bound to rub off of you!
You may love your acquaintances and friends but you don’t have to spend your time with them! You sometimes have to let go of those who delay your progress. Your ‘network is your net-worth’ means your connections influence your income.
Do yourself a favor and make a list of five individuals you spend most time with, then guess their current net worth. The chances are, your net worth is not far from these five individuals’ average net worth. True?
So, what are you going to do?
